Great diner... one of the last ones around these parts. We love their breakfasts. They have lots of room for big groups too but still a quaint diner feel... also a cool little antique store right next door to tool around in.

A stand alone food court with lots of very healthy and very tasty local options. We love going there. Perfect for families where everyone is in the mood for something different. I love the unique variety of food and love that they have composting, recycling, and to be washed bins for you to bus your own table. A real grass roots, friendly feel.

A hole in the wall little pizza place. off hours you probably don't need a reservation but prime time, I would call ahead. We love the Burn Co sausage pizza.

You can walk to this little coffee house. Unlike what the name suggests, it’s actually located on Latimer between Denver and Cheyenne streets. Just seven houses to the south and take a left and you’ll see it right there.

So I am not going to tell you anything about this other than you have to go, walk all the way up to the big sculpture. Stop in front of it and stand in the brick circle and talk. You will experience something very strange.

I’m leaving this recommendation in so I don’t forget to put it back in but right now they are refurbishing and rebuilding the museum and the grounds are off-limits. One of my favorite places in town. The museum is a world class collection of the best southwestern art. The grounds are beautiful. There are gardens by the museum and then for the adventurists, check out the north parking lot for access to the back 40 where you will find wooded walking trails, a gazebo on the pond and more.

Great place for listening to Tulsa's own musicians and traveling musicians. If you have heard about Tulsa's great music scene and great songwriters, they are talking about The Mercury and The Colony. Check them both out. You won't be disappointed. Both are smoke free.

Finding your way
Street numbers increase as you go South and East and mile blocks are numbered like 21st st, 31st st etc. Beginning downtown streets are also alphabetized going up the alphabet as you go north on the east/west running streets and going up numerically as you go south on the east/west running streets. Streets on either side of Main Street also are organised alphabetically with streets named for western cities on the west side of main and those named after eastern cities on the east side.

The Gathering Place
All I can say is " I wish I still had little kids ." This is a world class park in the heart of Tulsa with sooooo much for both kids and adults to play on. Science in the trees, water and sand and hand machines, tons of stuff to climb on, slide down and ride. And the best part, if that isn't enough.... it is all free! there is a beautiful pond with a sandy beach where someone was thoughtful enough to set our your chairs for you, decks all around the other side of the pond where there are rocking chairs for you to relax in. A lovely lodge with a big fireplace, and affordable food.
