Breakfast served from 8am. Great coffee and cakes. We love Route 2 on a weekend and sometimes cycle into Topsham with the kids for a coffee.

This little gem is an independent restaurant in the heart of Exeter. One of our favourites. Its only open for dinner in the evenings on Friday's and Saturdays which is probably why the staff are so cheerful. Open throughout the day the rest of the week. Fantastic food and really reasonably priced too. Well worth visiting.

What more can you say. The Pig and Pallet is a little gem for Topsham. They cure their own meats, make their own burgers and server it all in the quirky surroundings of an old sail loft decked out with...yes pallets. Great for breakfast, lunch or dinner and we think its great value too. Advisable to book in the evenings.

The Globe is a 16th Century pub in the heart of Topsham. Great for a bite to eat or just a few beers in town. A really eclectic mix of clientèle and a mix of options including fine dining dishes such as Westcountry Belly Pork (my favourite) or a really good fish and chips. The bonus if you are visiting Topsham is also that its the only pub to stay open until midnight.

Great fish and an endless supply of chips. We love Rockfish for its wonderful location right by the sea.

Great for days out with the kids and you can come back any time in the same week once you have paid once. Take a packed lunch or eat at a variety of outlets. It's quite expensive but good value if you make a day of it.

Sams Funhouse used to be a rather iconic nightclub and has since been converted into a soft play centre for the kids. They have a great cafe area where you can get hold and cold food or just sit back with a coffee whilst the kids burn off some energy. Our kids love visiting!!

You can get here within 20 minutes on foor from our place in Ebford and if you want to see the wildlife that abounds the River Exe then this is a great place to start (on your way to the pub in Topsham of course).
