Most of the college kids hang out on "The Strip" which is a segment of Washington Street between 6th ave and University. There are dozzens.of bars and a few places to get street food and quick eats.
I am not a beer drinker and they have come up with beers that I simply love. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a true Stillwater original make this a must visit!

Stillater has most of the big brand chain restaurants. We also have some homegrown favorites.
These are some of our go to restaurants when people ask for recommendations.
This is generally a must stop for most people who come to Stillwater. Not the most fantastic food in the world, but they started the trend of cheese fries in Oklahoma and they have amazing sweet pepper bacon. If you get a drink other than water you get to keep the cup and Joe's Cup collections are one of the staples of Stillwater. At late night it turns in to strictly a bar that is generally one of the most packed in town.

By far the best place to go to for Italian food in town. According to my Italian co-workers, while it is not 100% authentic, it is the best you are going to get in Oklahoma.

This is a regional BBQ restaurant. Right down the street from the house. They have a great selection at reasonable prices. Some of the best BBQ in all of Oklahoma.

Probably the best Americanized Chinese food in town. You can get all your favorites. They also have a small selection of other Asian fare. One of the few places left in town where you could get a meal and have a conversation. Less than a mile from the house, so even within a long walk if you were so inclined.

One of the few places left in town where you could get a meal and have a conversation. Less than a mile from the house, so even within a long walk if you were so inclined.
This was one of if not the first pizza places in Oklahoma. Many unique pizzas and a cozy atmosphere make this a favorite date night attraction.

Arts & Culture
Stillwater (and Oklahoma in general) is starting to bring back more sophisticated entertainment options. These are just a few of the options.
The Sheerar family are one of the founders of Stillwater and run the museum that highlights the history of the area. While in the neighborhood you can also check out the OSU visual arts museum and the Multiarts center.

The Murrow bombing left a scar on many in Oklahoma. This memorial has a section that walks you through the event and its aftermath. Outsode is a memorial garden which has translucent chairs for each of those who died which can be quite beautiful at night

Set in the historic post office, the Museum of Art showcases some of the best artists in central Oklahoma. Each month they have a different rotation of art pieces and a dedicated art space where artists are working on new things. A great free diversion for those included.

Getting Around
Stillwater is not a great town for getting around without a car. Uber and Lyft are both really popular. Be warned that the bus is really seasonal and has limited hours.
The closest bus stop is just a 5 minute walk away. Located on the east end of the parking lot between Walmart and Burger King. Cost is pretty cheep but the bus cycle is not as good as some bigger cities.

Entertainment & Activities
Most of Stillwater is geared arround the college so there are not a lot of things local. That being said, here are some activities to consider.

One of the U.S.'s largest salt plaines is about an hours drive away. Lots of outdoor activities, but digging for the unique crystals is one of the most popular. These selenite crystals form red hourglass shapes that are found noplace else on Earth.
