A few minutes drive from the house. Peaceful place for a walk. You can also kayak and fish here. There are hikes starting here that connect with the Appalachian Trail.

Deer Leap Overlook Trail is a 1.9 mile trail located near Killington, Vermont and features a steady climb on often rugged trail terrain. At the top of the Dear Leap Overlook, the rocky formation offers exceptional views of the surrounding area, with views of both Pico and Killington ski mountains. The views are perfect for photographs.

The 4.8 mile out and back Canty trail in Mendon is often a buggy, so be forewarned. Dogs are able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. A great diversion, about 3/5 of the way up the mountain, is the stop off in the water cascades. This is where the mountain stream falls into a gorgeous cascade, which stays running in many of the dry Summer months, when most creeks and streams have already dried up. Not sure the trek to the very top is worth it, as the view from the top is obstructed unless it is Fall and the reduced foliage allows for better viewing of the surrounding countryside.

About a 10 minute drive from the house. Don't just go to the road and do the short walk. It's a fun hike if you start at the Kent Pond kayak drop in and follow the white Appalachian trail to the Falls. It's about a 50 minute hike each way.

Beautiful venue for a wedding, but I am recommending this for the hikes behind the property. Great trail of stone steps to the top of the mountain with wonderful peak views and a nice stop at the stone house built at the very top. During the hike there are various challenges straight out of the Spartan Race playbook, like rope climbs and other challenges. This trail starts behind Riverside Farm in Pittsfield. It is a steep climb and takes about 45-50 minutes to get to the top. There are also many trails you can follow but many are part of the VAST trail system and are more for mountain biking with lots of switchbacks to get you up the mountain easier.

Many people love this place. I think it's good, but I am a bit of a food snob, so I can't give it 5 stars lol but worth checking out. The setting is beautiful too!

About a 20 minute drive from the house. Good farmers market with a large assortment from herbs, greens, veggies and dessert to cannabis products and craft spirits. The market runs year round. The winter market begins the first weekend in November

Great coffee bar that changes to a more formal dinner place in the evening. We've had some great meals (limited menu) and they always have a vegetarian option. Catch one of their wine dinners.

Great experience, but very hard to get into as it is small. Plan ahead to get a reservation! And walkable from the house :)

Very funky place to see some live music. Sort of a Grateful Deadish vibe. The owner and her boyfriend have a stage set up. She is a wonderful baker and you can order pizza. They are also back to doing Sunday brunch. You can order all sorts of baked goods, but you have to check out the timing as ordering is very specific days. No website, just find them on Facebook

Very small place so better for takeout, but cute if you decide to eat in. Just know it gets hot inside in the summer. But great food and nice staff!
