HARRIMAN RESERVOIR, also know as Lake Whitingham is the largest body of water located entirely within the state of Vermont. It is just a half mile away with lots of different places to access and short hiking trails along it leading to beautiful beach and picnic areas. https://massachusettspaddler.com/df6-harriman-reservoir.
Access the Catamount Trail on the south western end of Harriman (2 miles from our house) and hike along the western side of Harriman - absolutely beautiful hiking! Parking and access point is at the end of Dam Road (cross the dam and go to the right).
