"BOUCHERIE – a step deeper into taking more appreciation for the foods and personalities that make the south a culinary destination – is Chef Nathanial Zimet, David Zimet and staff, and was born out of everything that led Nathanial to the purple truck: an education in Great Brittain and Australia at Le Cordon Bleu; the restaurant industries of New Orleans, North Carolina and abroad – and all that was learned while feeding the streets of this city. Our cuisine reflects our passions and our purpose – which is fine dining for the people. We smoke, cure, age and prepare all our meats in house – and as do most fine establishments of this city – we purchase from local agriculture and seafood purveyors when available. Through these small understandings Boucherie embraces the traditions of its namesake, as well as the food that inspired it."

Parks

"City Park is as magical and unique as the city of New Orleans. The 1,300-acre outdoor oasis has enchanted New Orleanians since 1854, making it one of the nation’s oldest urban parks. Each year, millions of visitors stroll under the same historic oaks and picturesque moss canopies that served as the backdrop for dances, concerts and even gentlemanly duels or “affaires d’honneur” for generations."

Sightseeing

"Often called the Crown Jewel of New Orleans, the French Quarter is one of NOLA's most historic neighborhoods. But you'll find plenty of new mixed in with the old. There’s a reimagined French Market, modern boutiques and artisan cocktails mix with beloved antique stores and old restaurants. (Antoine’s. Arnaud’s. Galatoire’s. Brennan’s – the world would be far less flavorful without you!) Like the Creole aristocrats lining the galleries of the Historic New Orleans Collection, the French Quarter is a timeless portrait – especially come dusk when swallows glide above the fortunetellers on Jackson Square and St. Louis Cathedral’s butter-crème-colored walls reflect the fiery sunset. Ghost tours troop past mad Madame LaLaurie’s mansion while neon signs stutter to life on Bourbon Street where syrupy red Hurricanes, slosh in famed ‘go cups’– those plastic tumblers responsible for uncountable curbside parties. Night falls. Horse hooves clop, music throbs and gaslights flicker in a place full of long-told legends and those waiting to be born. Create one of your own."

Neighborhoods

"Designated as an official Historic District, the Faubourg Marigny is filled with stunning and well-preserved historical buildings and landmarks. Originally a residential neighborhood filled with Creole cottages, the Marigny’s geographical location soon transformed the neighborhood into a small business and industrial area. In more recent years, the Marigny and Bywater has experienced another major transformation into a trendy, affordable neighborhood for residents with restaurants, music clubs, art and B&Bs."
