An innovator in the kitchen, Alice Waters popularized the idea of sourcing locally and creating farm to table meals back int he 60’s. Since then, her flagship restaurant, Chez Panisse, has attracted foodies form all over the world to Berkeley’s Ghourmet Ghetto.
Seating at the Cafe upstairs is less limited, but if intending to secure a seat in the main restaurant, make your reservations as soon as possible. This restaurant books months in advance!
During Covid restrictions, Chez Panisse has transitioned to offering pre-ordered gourmet lunch items and farm boxes of their favorite seasonal ingredients.
