Splendid Swedish and western cuisine restaurant with very reasonable price. The place serves best pizza and pizza bread like no other in Thailand or else not to mention delicious Swedish style Seabass dish cooked in white wine cram sauce (Fish Wichuda), meatball in raspberry sauce etc. And don't forget to try that mashed potato. If you ask for Lung (uncle) Ulf special on Fish Wichuda, you may have your dish decorated with extra prawns on top of it.

Parks & Nature

Great cycling route approximately 9 kms from Boontarn Sanctuary. Take country route through paddy fields, ancient temple and hilly route into the engulfing arms of Thongchai range and Mae kanin forest before reaching the destination by Mae Khan steam which runs through rocky canyons then flows down into Mae Khan river. Ob Khan national park is a very pleasant cycling route and picnic spot.

Ruins temples scatter around this ancient town where the city moat and remains of city earthen wall and entrance still can be witnessed.

The museum also offers numbers of rare Dvaravati-Hariphunjaya Mon artefacts that reflect the glorious days of the last ancient Mon stronghold in the northern region of Thailand before the seize by Tai Tribe from the north.

Sightseeing

Phrathat Hariphunchai temple is named after the great stupa of Hariphunjaya which is believed to have been founded by King Arthitayaraj of the Mon Kingdom of Hariphunjaya. Legend has that the Lord Buddha himself traveled from Nepal to this spot over 2 and the half millenniums ago and predicted the erect of the stupa. The temple serves as landmark of Hariphunjaya kingdom (Lamphun in the present day) by River Guang which is the old route of the River Ping, the main river in northern region of Thailand. Within this temple, they are also other 2 significant stupas; one of Hariphunjaya Mon style and the other in Lan na style. The temple also very much related to Reverend Srivijaya (Krue Ba Srivichai), a famous rebel monk who bravely challenged the central government authority over control of Buddhist monks in the north and successfully preserves Lan Na Buddhist tradition in great extent. The temple was once his grounded residence when he was held for interrogation where he also contributed his effort to restore the grand assembly hall which was struck down to ground by storm.

She was mentioned in a Chinese envoy, Chow Ta Kuan's journal to Suvarnabhumi region (Indochina) in Chinese Tang Dynasty period. Cammadevi was said to be a Mon princess from Lavo (present day Lopburi), disciple of the legendary ethnic Lua (Lawa) hermit Sudeva Rishi of Mt.Suthep (Chiang Mai) and Sukathanta Rishi of Mt. Samorkon (Lopburi). Many local myths mention her in their tales of the queen who brought Buddhism and civilisation into the region by which she had to bravely battle many obstacles including the aboriginal Lua King, Lord Vilanka. She successfully defeated the lord and made a truce with the locals which made her kingdom lasted for the next 600 years. Jam Thewee temple stood two most significant stupas of Thailand that believed to be 2 of the oldest dated back to 7th Century. One of them known as Ku Kud (broken top stupa) a stepped pyramid shape stupa which is believed to be the Queen's ashes burial place.
