A short drive away in the Dordogne, lovely lake close to Saint Saud Lacoussiere. There is also an exceptional restaurant here ( Hostellerie St Jacques) for a special occasion and other a few other restaurants and a cafe too.

Tree climbing/Acrobois
A fantastic day for adults and children alike. Aerial adventure in the trees followed by a zip wire across the lake! Great value. We recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Run by a lovely English couple and very popular with both local french, English and holidaymakers. Fish and chips on a Friday is amazing and the setting is absolutely beautiful-in the middle of nowhere but only about 15 minutes from the house. Great food, great value and a fun family evening out.

Adventure
Great day out. Visit the beautiful town of Brantome in the Dordogne and go for either a short or long canoe trip on the river. Such fun and beautiful at the same time. We do this every year! Children
must be able to swim but the water is fairly shallow and life jackets are provided. You will need spare clothes!

Great day out for all the family but especially younger children. Saying that, our teenage boys loved it, especially the go karts. Lots of fun activities and a good snack bar/cafe for lunch.

Located only a few Km from the house, this lake is owned by the commune. You can walk, run or drive from the house and have a lovely walk around the lake followed by a picnic and a spot of fishing. You must have a fishing licence which can be bought from Chez Jules restaurant in the village or at the Mairie (village hall).

There is a great antique market held every second Sunday of the month in the streets around the cathedral in Limoges.

Tv fire stick
Due to being in the countryside, the tv signal is rather poor. Internet is super fast however so we tend to watch tv via the internet using the x box 360. I would suggest therefore that if you have a fire stick or something similar, you bring this with you. 😄

How to light the oven
The ignition for the oven and hob is the middle button on the left hand side. To light the oven, turn the 3rd knob from the left to 8 and keep it pressed in while at the same time pressing the ignition (middle button on the left). Hold in the oven knob for a few seconds before releasing it and putting the oven at your desired temperature.
