Beautiful place to visit with kids or adults. The tallest fall in New York and SO worth visiting. A very easy approach and multiple viewing points. The best thing - there is a swimming hole a the bottom! Kids will enjoy discovering the surrounding creeks too

Just minutes from the house. It's a local hidden spot so the approach is not labeled but you might see cars parked along Rt 23 (right past the Pratt Rock parking lot). Such a fun place to just hang out on warm rocks and dip into the crystal clear waters.
Keep in mind, this involves a bit of a climb down to the creek and the bottom of the creek consists of huge rock boulders; if you're coming here with younger kids, you might need to be alert as the waters are VERY deep and the tide could be very fast at times. This is a great spot for those that can swim well but make sure to bring floaties for the kiddos.

Schoharie Creek
Just minutes from the house. It's a local hidden spot so the approach is not labeled but you might see cars parked along Rt 23 (right past the Pratt Rock parking lot). Such a fun place to just hang out on warm rocks and dip into the crystal clear waters.

Yet another amazing swimming hole. Get there early as parking area is small. And bring swimming shoes if you can. If you’re into jumps this place is for you! Anything from a few feet, to what looks like 20+ feet up in the air. People jump off rocks, trees, there’s even a rope to swing on and into the water.
If you're looking for a pool, this beautiful hotel offers day passes. Great restaurant for lunch too!

This place is great with kids. There is a small sandy beach, lots of covered picnic tables, a huge soccer field to run around, a basketball court, a frisbee field, really nice playground and a small trail. The mountain ridge views are absolutely stunning!

About 25 minutes away is what they call a living museum - trails, beautiful landscapes, gorgeous flowers, pond with bullfrogs, a labyrinth, magical 'hidden' marsh, panels displaying interesting facts about the environment, theres so much to see.
Adults will appreciate the natural beauty of the place and kids will love running around discovering.
This could be an all day thing, bring lunch.
