About 40 min drive from Ithaca by Seneca Lake- stunning gorge path, extends about 2 miles, easy walk with stairs. Can probably do it all in 1.5 hours whether you’re in shape or not. This is the top 2 most visited state parks in New York. Nearby town of Watkins Glen sits on Seneca Lake which has lots of wineries on either side of the lake.

Highest single-drop waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains, about 20 min from Ithaca. Leisure stroll of 25 min to the falls on a gravel path or if you don’t feel like walking, you can drive up to the overlook which will give you this look below. There is also a more challenging rim tail that goes around the gorge and takes at least an hour or two. Across the road, there is a large lakeside park to enjoy activities on Cayuga lake.
