Authentic Venezuelan/Peruvian food, by a local chef. Don’t miss the Charcoal chicken, black beans, crema de pollo, or the tres leche.

Great sushi, extremely fresh, in a quaint setting. Best for small groups, no more than 4.

I am a seafood snob, as a native of Florida, I only suggest spots with local chefs and flair. No chains. This place is a boat house on a marina, with spectacular views and the best raw oysters to be had in town, along with other local seafood favorites. Dine inside, or out on the deck and look at the boats. You can (and people do) dock your boat and walk right in.

Limited Public Transportation

There is almost no public transportation in Pensacola, so if you don’t have a car, prepare for needing Uber and Lyft, both of which are readily available in Pensacola and the surrounding areas.

The quickest route to the beach.

So, if you follow google or Apple Maps, they will both take you to the beach via Gulf Breeze, which is a fine and beautiful drive, but on heavy beach days, the traffic can be a couple of hours if you take the 'usual' route. There is a back route which includes a $5 toll, and it’s a few miles longer, but against the flow of traffic, so on weekends where the beach is packed, it’s much faster to go this way: https://goo.gl/maps/mj9a8vYk4jpHX41r5

Which Beach?

The busiest and most built up beach is Pensacola Beach, so if you want lots of people and places to eat and shop, go to Pensacola Beach. (also known as Casino Beach) If you want a more secluded spot, head toward Pensacola Beach, but instead of going to Casino Beach, drive East toward the Gulf Island National Seashore, toward Navarre. Same body of water, same sugar white sand, just less people. Also, if you are wave averse, visit the 'Sound Side' of the beach, which is on the other side of the island, on the bay, instead of the Gulf. Again, same water and sand, no waves.
