This beautiful village is steeped in history, with one of England’s most iconic castle ruins. It is quaint and picturesque and you may be lucky to stay when there is an event on at the castle which can be anything from a medieval day, to an outdoor cinema evening under the stars. Just up the road from here is also an outdoor inflatable water obstacle course, lots of fun for the family.

Studland is a personal favourite of ours. Whether you like walking along a sandy beach or watching the sun go down whilst having dinner over looking the sea. This is a great place for all to visit, on one side you have a view of Old Harry Rocks which you can walk to and on the other side you have a view of Brownsea Island, which is only a short ferry away. Studland also has a riding stable offering you beach rides and water sports activities.

A wonderful island to explore. Hop on the ferry to go and see if you can spot the famous red squirrels. Owned by the National trust, it is the birthplace to the scouts and guides and a great day out.

Food scene

This is a favourite of ours. The view is beautiful and the food is excellent. During the summer months it is worth enjoying a flatbread out on the terrace over looking the sea. This is only a 15 minute drive from the cottage.

Another favourite of ours, this restaurant is great because it’s right next to the ferry over looking brownsea island. When the tides out it creates its own little beach for rockpooling and hunting crabs. The food is delicious and you can either grab a burger on one side and sit in or outdoors or you can book a table for more fine dining. Check before going as it is open in certain seasons.
