Solva has a natural harbour and is popular with boat owners. The village splits into upper and lower Solva and stretches back to Middle Mill were Solva Woollen Mill is situated. There are many quaint fisherman's cottages interspersed with pubs, cafes, shops, galleries and tearooms.
