If you are looking for something a little different to do in Galway I would recommend a trip up the Corrib River on the Corrib Princess. There is seating outside on the top deck but also inside seating for those not so nice days!

This ancient church celebrates it's 700 anniversary in 2020 It is said that Christopher Columbus prayed here before he went to discover the new world and that Oliver Cromwell stabled his horses here.

Use the long stay carparks

The closest long stay carpark is the big council run carpark beside the Cathedral in Galway City. The cost for all day parking is €5 per day. The machine accepts cash - no notes or credit cards. This car park fills up quite fast in the morning but people come and go so it is worth waiting. If you can't get parking there is a day rate of €8 to park in the Cathedral grounds.

On street parking in Galway City is free after 6.30pm and on Sunday mornings. Outside of these times you will need to buy a ticket from the closest parking machine.
