It is actually the most beautiful botanic gardens at the foot of the mountain, you can picnic, you can hike, there is a river to cool your feet in, there are restaurants, a nursery (where you can buy indigenous plants) or just relax. Make a day of it! During the summer months from December through to March there are outdoor concerts, a truly unique experience.

Boulders Beach, which is part of the Table Mountain National Park, is home to a colony of African penguins. These cute and comical birds waddle around quite unperturbed by the tourists. Huge boulders create sheltered little coves and the resident penguins often swim past and go in and out of the water. It's the perfect place to escape the wind and get to see some penguins too!
Most tourists go to the boardwalk, but I would give that a miss, much more fun going to the beach, (you have to buy a ticket),walk to the end of the beach, you will see a gap in a rock, go through that, then climb over a few rocks and you will
find paradise!
