If that's your first time in Detroit, take the People Mover. It's a kind of self driving overground subway, that rides in circles over the Downtown. You can see a lot of the city this way. It's not going to replace and actual walk, but would sure give you some ideas.

Tuesdays are cleaning days. So please don't park on the streets of Hazel Park on Tuesdays. Although they don't always clean, they always ticket!
