It is now a cross-country skiing, tubing, and snowshoeing venue in the winter and offers , mountain biking and golfing in the summer.

Right down the street from.the apartment is the city recreation center with something for everyone. The center has indoor pools for lap swimming, water aerobics, diving, or playing with the kids (kiddie area that is shallow with small slides). The outdoor pools is open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. It has a kiddie pile area for little swimmers, and a large pool for more experienced swimmers and those that want to swim laps. There are two water slides and new diving platforms. The outdoor pool allows visitors to bring in outside food or purchase from the snack bar.
The ice rink offers a great break from the heat or a festive activity for all age levels and is the rink the local high school hockey team competes in.

The second option is at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon (on the northeast corner of Fort Union Blvd. and Wasatch Blvd.) a short 1 mile drive from the apartment.
