This place is a little on the pricy side but it is amazing. If you don't want to dine you can always stop in for a drink at the bar or whisky tasting room. It's been here over one hundred years and has an interesting history.

Fun lunchtime spot for fried and fresh seafood. On weekends you'll likely be dining beside a hundred bikers. County line beach (from that Beach Boy's song) is right across the street and is still a popular spot for surfing

I believe they filmed Castaway on this beach. Really pretty, wild and rocky. Swimming is a little hazardous but it happens.

This place is spectacular. You can do a nice walk around the top if you can find parking or walk up to the cliffs from the state park entrance on the beach. You can often see sea lions, seals and whales migrating up the coast.

One of the most stunning locales in the Santa Monica Mountains, 588-acre King Gillette Ranch offers a rare unspoiled view of California’s rich archaeological, cultural, and historic resources, including a Chumash settlement, and nationally significant structures designed for razor magnate King C. Gillette in the 1920’s by Wallace Neff, architect of California’s Golden Age.

This is just up Piuma and offers stunning views of the mountains and Malibu Canyon. You can have a picnic here. But if you keep driving up Piuma past this spot there's a little state park sign on the right hand side with a short hiking trail that will lead you to an even more private and better picnic spot.
