In turkish the name is like flea market.
It is an old refugee bazaar, but in the night it is a remarkable place for giong out. Very popular among university students and young people in general. It is a very remarkable place because it is like an oasis of old time greek taverns in the 80's-90's faceless-bauhaus thesaloniki. Very nice atmosphere! A must go for the tourist!

The Arch of Galerius (Kamara) is perhaps the most distinctive and interesting roman structure of Thessaloniki. It is also one of the most popular destinations of the city along with the White Tower for both locals and tourists.
The arch was commissioned as a triumphal monument by emperor Galerius in order to celebrate the victorious campaign against the Sassanid Persians in 298 A.D. and the capture of their capital Ctesiphon.

The cylindrical structure was built in 306 AD on the orders of the tetrarch Galerius, who was thought to have intended it to be his mausoleum. It was more likely intended as a temple; it is not known to what god it would have been dedicated.
