A pretty place to walk. Natural wooded trails and a beautiful planked walkway over the river/marsh. Great views of the Hudson. Limited parking! Not ideal during Covid as I believe they closed most of parking off.

A secret waterfall! Shhh. This is a local's secret. Park in the lot and follow the tall trees trail (to the left). You'll have to cross over some planks at some point and take a steep descent down (wear good shoes!) but you will end up at a beautiful waterfall and swimming hole. It's a short (but steep) hike. Just stay to the left when the trail splits and make sure to carry out anything you carry in! There's also a tree swing at the bottom!

A lovely little main street with restaurants, art studios, and eclectic stores. There is also a pretty promenade that overlooks the river. Worth heading to for a meal (or ice cream)and a walk around.

A small super market about 15-20 min from the house. It has some local produce and all that you really need. If going, make sure to visit the wine store in the shopping center next door (nice and locally owned). Also, the village and Main Street of Cold Spring is very close by!

A little bit of a drive (about 25m) but for a special occasion, this highly rated restaurant is a great treat. Located at Stone Barns (see it also on this list!), it's exquisite food and great ambiance. Reservations are needed! If you want a casual experience, go for a hike on the grounds and grab a lunch or snack at the little cafe instead.

This is a famous hiking trail and a portion of it runs very close by!
There are several access points but there is one section of it that is less than a 5 min drive from the house. Just continue north on Old Albany Post (from the house you would turn right out of our street Lake Celeste Drive) and go to Chapman Road. Turn right on Chapman and the trail head is immediately on your left (you can park along the road there). The trail is really pretty (a little incline at first) but you basically go one direction and then have to turn around and come back the same way. We sometimes veer off and make it a circle but it's a bit more confusing.

Great hiking trails. You can park off of 9D and walk down towards marsh area and eventually the Hudson. Make sure to cross over the train tracks on the unpaved road over to access the trails that lead along the water. (trail head on the left after crossing over).
