Our neighbourhood "local", and according to Lonely Planet the number one in Christchurch. Pomeroys brew their own beers, and also feature an outstanding selection of New Zealand craft and boutique beers. Also great wine selection and beautiful food. This is literally only a few steps from my home, so couldn't be handier if you don't feel like venturing too far for an evening meal. Often live jazz as well. Lots of my guests go here and everyone raves about it.
Little Poms Neighbourhood Cafe, right next door to Pomeroys, has a cosy, buzzy vibe, serving all day brunch-type food and excellent coffee.

Great South American food and good bar. Nice place to sit out in the late afternoon/early evening sun, have a drink & watch the trams go buy. Try the mixed at the table fresh guacamole - excellent!
