Coffee!!!! Mark Twain frequented here. South Point is literally the bottom tip of the United States. There are sharks here, Cliff diving for the b rave of heart. Fishing and WIND. Several company's offer shuttle rides from the lower parking lot to Green Sands Beach (Appx $15-$25p/p). The sand really is Green. You can also walk. It's around a 6-mile roundtrip hike, plus a steep downgrade to get to the water.

Waimea
The Punalu'u Bake Shop is here. A must stop on the way to Hilo. Every grocery in Kona carries this bread, but nothing bets getting it fresh at the bakery. Along with a few tasty Malasadas (like a stuffed beignet) to take on the road.

Hvað á að taka með
Pack for where you are going not where you're coming from.
Hawaii stays relatively warm in the 80*-90*'s during the day. We have been experiencing above average rainfall on the Kona (West) side for the past 8 months, and it can be wet and cool to 58*-70* at night. A rain poncho, or sweatshirt is usually all that's needed.
Siðir og menning
Kuliana-We don't wear your shoes inside the house.
Please remember when going into someone's home, (Including Blue Hawaii) to remove your shoes. Some people leave them outside and others, right inside the doorway. Think about it this way. Everything you have walked in is on the bottom of your shoes. When you walk inside with your shoes on, you bring all that bioburden with you. Dirt, mud, vomit, urine, dog poop, oil, garbage, spit, gum, trash that you've stepped in comes with you. Please remove your shoes! Knowing this will make the locals respect you more. And don't forget to brush off Beach Sand!
