Verified & recommended by several of our Turkish friends, this is the best Turkish food in town. The lamb gyro and kebab are great. This is our favorite restaurant in town. A family owned Cantonese style BBQ restaurant that has delicious food with a very affordable price. Try their roast duck, soy chicken, and dry style chow fun with beef. Come here for the cocktails, enjoy the food as well. Poor Calvin’s has a very creative menu and their bartenders are sure to be able to recommend something to suit your taste. We like their Long Island Iced Tea (which may seem pricey until it shows up in a canteen and provides you a few rounds at once). It is super walkable to most venues in midtown (such as the Fox Theater) and is a great place to stop for a bite before an event or as a place to enjoy cocktails in a laid back environment.

Our favorite speakeasy in the Buckhead area, hidden beneath a Mexican restaurant. When we last were there they required a password so it’s worth taking a look on yelp to find out. Take a step back into the 1920s prohibition era and enjoy well made drinks and a quiet corner for a date night or night out with friends.

Blake’s is at the heart of the gay nightlife scene in Atlanta. Located right off Piedmont Park at the intersection of 10th and Piedmont, there is plenty of dancing and good times to be had. The best place to go for dessert in the city. We are partial to stopping for their crepes and enjoy the European-fusion food and the feeling of being on the streets of Paris, but most people come here for the desserts. Once you have gotten a table, go browse the array of cakes available and pick one that catches your eye. The staff are all very knowledgeable and can help explain and help you identify which one will tickle your fancy.

The Beltline is definitely Atlantarian’s favorite place, this walking path is built on top of an old rail line and connects several best neighborhoods together. The most popular section starts from Piedmont park, 10th and Monroe Dr. It will lead you to the Ponce city market in historic Old fourth ward neighborhood and ends at Krog street Market at Inman Park. The popularity of this beltline also revives the neighborhood along it, tons of restaurants, bars and retails are open in the historic buildings along it together with small parks and pop culture sites. It is delightful to walk or scooter along the beltline with friends on a sunny day, with native plants surrounding. Grab a drink or stop for food, experience a true atlanta lifestyle.

We love this serene spot in the center of the city. The north side is more woody, natural and less crowded , a great place to hike. The High Museum is fun to visit for its architecture as well as its collections. Designed by several world famous Master architects, it is one of the leading art museums in the Southern USA. Located in Midtown, it is a convenient place to start or end your day exploring the city and spend a few hours exploring their varied exhibits and enjoying the wondrous design of the building. It is also notable for being in quite a few movies, including Black Panther and the Divergent movies. We keep going for their special exhibits and enjoy that the second Sunday of each month has free admission for all from 1-4pm and Bank of America account holders can get free admission the first weekend of the month.

Ponce City Market is a modern icon of Atlanta. Formerly the Sears and Roebuck warehouse and conveniently located on the Beltline, it is one of the early and best examples of adaptive re-use for mixed-use development in a city. It is now home to apartments, restaurants, a food court, a variety of shopping options, and office space and has endless options to explore. We particularly like Jia (spicy szechuan food) and City Winery for eating, and many people enjoy The Roof and 9-mile station, which sit atop the market and offer food and entertainment with views of the city. Ponce City Market also holds events throughout the year so be sure to check out their events calendar. Quick tip - if you want to go to the roof it is $10 on weekdays or $15 on weekends. If you make a reservation at 9-mile station, you will be asked for a deposit, but it will go towards your meal and the admission to the roof will be waived. Plan ahead as same-day reservations tend to be hard to get on the weekends.

Little Five Points is one of Atlanta’s hippest neighborhoods. Check out the indie stores for offbeat vintage clothing, vinyl and cool gifts, or hang out at the dive bars lining the streets.
