Local Dining Out up to 5 min in a car

The area is very well served with a variety of eateries and take aways for a variety of budgets. Some within walking distance, some on a short bus route or within 5 minutes by car/taxi. All these are recommended.
This is a very clean, tidy and well kept public house with good bar food and a small restaurant too. Children welcome in the family area, the place is usually quiet and relaxed. In summer there is a lovely outside garden area where you can enjoy a relaxing time too.

Take Aways

Some Good Take Away places in our area, all below are recommended.
Wow, this is an Indian take away with a difference. The food is unique, freshly prepared to order, but really tasty. Saturday evenings can be busy, and if so then a 40 minute wait is not unusual, but highly recommended. 0115 9285826 and a menu is left on top of the fridge. Located at the Bramcote Lane parade of shops, down the road, right at the Hemlockstone, pass Sainsburys and it is on the right.

Award Winning Fish and Chip Shop, which also has a small restaurant attached. Everything freshly cooked, so a short wait is required for your chips, but worth it! Served in a box, so no soggy chips. Located on Bramcote Lane parade of shops, down to the Hemlockstone and turn right, far end of the shops on the right hand side.

Dining out in Nottingham City Centre

Our City Centre is packed with exceptional dining out facilities, far too many to mention, but here are a few of our favourites. The City Centre is easily reachable, especially by Bus. No 35 passes the front door, and No 30 is at the bottom of the road with a bus stop outside the Hemlockstone on Bramcote Lane. 20 minutes by bus.
This is our favourite Indian Restaurant, small but very friendly, usually busy between 6pm and 7.30pm, and Friday and Saturday evenings for sure, but ring to book a table :) Reasonable prices too. There are other Indians in the same locality as this one so plenty of choice. Simple, modern restaurant with North Indian menu, for clay-oven tandoori dishes and classic curries. Address: 43 Mount St, Nottingham NG1 6HE Phone: 0115 941 1632 Menu: lagunatandoori.co.uk Order: just-eat.co.uk

Local attractions worth a visit

Here are some very local free or low cost places to visit on your doorstep. Beautiful for a short walk and get out in the fresh air.
Would be a shame not to visit here during your stay. You can either walk from the house and enter via the entrance on Parkside, stroll through the park, round the lake, up to the house, down to the main entrance and exit here, turn left and return through Wollaton village. Approx 3 hour walk, or stop off at the Admiral Rodney for a pint too. Alternatively if you take the car, the only charge is for car parking, plenty of green open space and sometimes there are events held here at weekends during the summer period. The Courtyard adjacent to the main house has a coffee shop, souvenir shop, and the old Industrial museum is open at weekends. Inside the house is a beautiful stately home, excellent tea room, and exhibitions.

Why recommend a visit to the University? Well why not? There are award winning gardens, a garden trail, and beautiful landscapes. During the week 9am - 4pm the entrances have security, but visitors are very welcome and visitor parking is available, so don't be deterred. No access problems at all at weekends. Main Campus It is also home to De Vere Orchard hotel, so you can pop in for a coffee or lunch too, although service can be slow at times! But the architecture here is stunning. Jubilee Campus Beautiful lake in the heart of the campus, award winning architectural designed buildings, coffee shops.
