The best local pubs

Our recomendations on the best places for a meal and a drink.
Gastro pub with remarkable interior character renovation, popular with locals for a drink too. Probably the best-looking pub in the area. Great atmosphere. Has outdoor garden with tables, too. No sports TV.

Cosy and friendly local with a great menu. The closest pub, which can be reached on foot through the golf course, rather than risking to walk along London Road (which doesn't have a proper foot path). Otherwise, it's a 1 minute drive with plenty of parking. Has outdoor garden with tables, too.

Can be reached on foot if you fancy a longer stroll past the farmer's fields, through a cul de sac. Popular with nearby GE office workers and locals, with friendly staff. Has deals during the week for their pizzas.

Classic cosy British pub, with a wonderful menu, and popular with locals. Probably our favourite local in winter, with its open fire. Has outdoor garden with tables, with a gate that opens to a hidden, community orchard alonside the Misbourne River.

Likely the best of the new generation restaurant and pub, which have a roaring trade for drinks on a Friday night with friends and family enjoying the ourdoor seating or open indoor spaces or the excellent cooking. Their steaks are cooked in a Spanish Josper grill, and pizzas in a real woodfired oven. Both are superb. Our favourite restaurant, and kid-friendly too. Also has a store in Beaconsfield, equally good, both doing well deservedly because of their excellence.
