One thing my husband and I like to do is go to the patio at the Marriott on Friday or Saturday evenings and listen to live music while we order drinks and appetizers in this beautiful setting.
Afterwards, have dinner at Roys, which is steps away from the above mentioned patio, with it's own patio dining. It's Hawaiian fusion inspired, amazing food that we love. Do get the Pineapple Martini, my favorite!

It's my personal favorite, as there are a myriad of trails from super easy, to quite steep, depending on your mood. You could hike for days, really. Plenty of parking here, and it's about 18 minutes by car, and on one side you're bordering multi-million dollar homes of N. Scottsdale. There's a nice visitor's center as well to tell you about the plants and animals of the Sonoran Desert.

Phoenix has grown up over the past couple decades, and houses a World Class Art Museum downtown. If you like art, definitely put this on your to do list! A 25 minute drive from the house with lots of free parking.
