If you're looking for a taste of the Southwest, I love this place nearby for Mexican Food. They have a large patio for outdoor dining, and some of the best Margarita's I've had anywhere. A large and diverse menu, of tasty offerings.

Looking for a fantastic night out of live music, and dancing, great martini's and food? This is the place. A 5 minute Uber ride to this large and lively club. It has outdoor seating as well, if you want to take advantage of our beautiful weather.

One thing my husband and I like to do is go to the patio at the Marriott on Friday or Saturday evenings and listen to live music while we order drinks and appetizers in this beautiful setting. Afterwards, have dinner at Roys, which is steps away from the above mentioned patio, with it's own patio dining. It's Hawaiian fusion inspired, amazing food that we love. Do get the Pineapple Martini, my favorite! A 5 minute Uber ride if you don't want to drink and drive.

Great evening entertainment, 5 minutes by car. I've always enjoyed the stand-up comedy here. It's on High Street, which is an assortment of restaurants and bars, including a cigar bar, and dance club, all on the same street, so it makes for a nice easy evening of hopping from one venue to the next, and a short Uber ride too.

This is one of the most beautiful hikes in the Phoenix area, and not as well known as Camelback Mountain and Piestewa Peak. It's my personal favorite, as there are a myriad of trails from super easy, to quite steep, depending on your mood. You could hike for days, really. Plenty of parking here, and it's about 18 minutes by car, and on one side you're bordering multi-million dollar homes of N. Scottsdale. There's a nice visitor's center as well to tell you about the plants and animals of the Sonoran Desert.

My highest recommendation for brunch, a 10 minute drive, in Scottsdale. So many unique, but hearty, tasty comfort food options. Flavors of pancakes you've never even heard of. Also great on weekend evenings if you want live music from 7-9 by a great band. This place has a great patio, I love eating outside whenever the weather is nice. It's a locally owned place, where the owner is usually milling around. Has a bar too.

I call this a special occasion restaurant, the food and drink are off the chart in this upscale eatery, only a 10 minute drive, in Scottsdale. Beautiful decor, and has a bar area, and patio too. Let them know it's a special occasion and you get a free creme brulee!

Wanna just order a pizza? This is my personal favorite, they have thin crust if you like that. I love the thin crust with sausage and pepperoni, But they also have medium crust, and Chicago deep dish style! They also have a great Cesear Salad that will feed 3-4 as a side salad.

Go with your group and sit in a fantastic, outdoor, club like setting, while being served food and drink. Practice hitting golf balls, driving range style. I recommend making a reservation. It's near the Talking Stick Casino and resort, so afterwards you can head over for some Casino fun. A 20 minute drive on the 101 fwy in Scottsdale.

Camelback Mountain..Address: 4943 E. McDonald Drive Phoenix, AZ This is where you will need to park to hike the famous Camelback Mountain. Don't park in nearby neighborhoods, they are strict about towing. If you're not familiar, it's our most famous mountian in the city, nestled amongst the million dollar homes of Paradise Valley. Named so because it looks like a Camel lying down. Also there's a famous rock formation on the head of the Camel called "The Praying Monk", which I mistakenly called the Ape Man when I first came here 24 years ago. Wear good hiking shoes and be prepared to climb. BRING LOTS OF WATER. Many a tourist has been rescued by helicopter from Camelback because they passed out from dehydration.

A cute little town with a flavor of the old West. Where you can drive to the corner of Ho and Hum Roads, in just 21 minutes from your "home away from home". Make sure to take the scenic drive up Scottsdale Road. You can do so by taking the 101 East and Exiting at Scottsdale Road, and heading North. Spend hours poking around the Southwestern cute shops, art galleries and restaurants.

This is a Thursday night staple for decades, not to be missed by Art Lovers and their entourage or companions. I'll provide current brochures at the house. You will see world class artwork in these many galleries along, Main Street, Marshall way and more. You'll not only find Western Art, but plenty of Contemporary Art, Impressionist Paintings, and just about any painting or sculpture to suit any taste. You'll find wine and cheese along the way too. Adjacent to famous Old Town Scottsdale with all it's historic landmarks, famous restaurants and nightlife.

This is an incredible museum that takes you on an amazing tour of the history of musical instruments, and instruments around the globe. The displays are interactive, state of the art, and done in a way to interest anyone. They also host performances. check their schedule for the performance series. My GPS says it's a 9 minute drive. Way worth it!
