I recommend Wild Wing's Bar because the drinks are inexpensive compared to any other bar in the area - it is newly renovated, the beer is really cold and the staff and management are soooo nice. This is a neighbourhood watering hole. TVs all around and you can ask if you want to watch something in particular - sports related - they are great about that. You may also send your spotify list to their speakers so often the music can be fun (when there isn't an important game on). Wings are discounted on Tuesdays with the purchase of a bev.

This a really great neighbourhood bar (not pretentious) for well priced beverages. TVs playing sports. I like this place - it has some character. If a bar in this neghbourhood can pull off inexpensive drinks - I applaud them whole heartedly and support.

A little higher end but you can follow the specials and before covid there was a bar to have a drink while shopping...I will check that in a day or 2, to see if it is still so.

Getting Around
Probably one of the worst car rental destinations in the city because of its ridiculously limited weekend hours (you can't return a vehicle when they are closed whihc boggles my mind - there's no depository in place) but it is the only car rental that is super close to the house (so very convenient - walk over in under 5 minutes) so if you are in a pinch and if the hours work for you....All good!

NOCE (Italian for Walnut - it's at the top of my street - Walnut Ave.) on Queen West opened with one goal in mind: to serve our customers the freshest food available and to recreate the flavors of Italy. It was our passion for food that led us to restore live wood-fire cooking, the oldest and most primitive method of cooking known, to a place of honor on Queen West. Together with courteous and friendly service, we aspire to deliver a unique dining experience alongside old-world flavors and innovative menu offerings.

Really good Thai food - Nice and close to the house - Around the corner on Queen Street next to Dufflets. Nothing fancy by way of ambience but you don't care. PS - Purse hooks are under the tables. Dishes inspired by the street food found within Thailand. The setting is reminiscent of eating at little establishments on the streets in Bangkok – shared tables, where patrons socialize, drink and eat, sitting on colourful plastic stools, often hearing the sounds of cutlery against melamine plates and bowls.

NO LIQUOR LICENSE - Family owned and run I believe. They are so nice. The food is delicious. I hear they are NOT liquor licensed. I used to eat there frequently when I first moved into the neighbourhood in 2008. Nothing trendy,nothing too fancy but it's god and you will enjoy. This place has stood the test of time and I do recommend it. They will deliver and you can take out. There's a flyer on the kitchen table.

Again - keeping it real in the 'hood. You don't have to frequent some of these pretentious overpriced places just because we are located in prime Toronto real estate. And I betcha Pennies is more fun!

Out of the neighbourhood but I do recommend if you want to make the trip. It's not that far really...the food is great and it's a fun place.
