Ft. Lauderdale Resturants Vol. 1
Greetings!,
Here are some of my favorite restraints in the area. They range from drive-thru casual to somewhat fancy. You can do an internet/Google Search and look up the restaurant specifics and menu (if I include the website link the AirBnB algorithm blocks it).
FOOD TRUCK RALLY! |
Hours: Monday’s Only from 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM
My absolute favorite place to eat out at is the food truck rally in Hollywood. There is an ENORMOUS variety of food there and a lovely park to walk around and enjoy. All of the trucks take credit card, with the very rare exception of 1 or 2. My absolute favorite food truck is the Mrs. Cheezies Gourmet Food truck! They aren’t there every week but when they are it’s well worth the wait. There is 1 other grill cheese food truck called the “Miami Grilled Cheese” or something, I don’t recommend it, It is not very good. (Fun Fact: The Mrs. Cheezious food truck catered out wedding reception which was held in the backyard of Secret Garden!).

This is a very, very casual, hole-in-the-wall restaurant where on any night of the week you can get unlimited crab legs for about $22 per person! This isn’t always on the menu, but you can ask for it and they have it 7 days a week. They also have a lot of other tasty options as well.

CUBAN:
Hours: 11 AM – 10 PM
A delicious and casual Cuban restaurant. I highly recommend it! If you have never had Cuban food before!
I encourage you to try the Oxtail, Ropa Veja, or Vaca Frtita with black beans and rice. I would also recommend a side of boiled garlic yuca, and sweet plantains. YUM! Just thinking about it is making me hungry!
*They don't have Oxtail sometimes (without warning) so call ahead and make sure they have it. It's amazing! It's a very soft meat in this delicious sauce/gravy. I know it sounds weird but it doesn't look weird and it's incredible!
Ropa Veja is a soft shredded beef in a tomato sauce, which is always my second favorite.
Vaca Frita, is also a shredded meat, but it's dryer and doesn't have the sauce. Vaca Frita has grilled onions and I strongly encourage you to squeeze the lime they give you over it.

A delicious and casual Cuban restaurant. I highly recommend it! If you have never had Cuban food before!

This is sort of a “fast-food” drive thru Cuban restaurant that is EXTREMELY popular in South Florida, and I personally love it.
I recommend the Tropi-chop bowls with black beans, rice, corn and your meat of choice with either curry mustard sauce or salsa (they also have vegetarian options). The ¼ chicken meal is also delicious!

This is sort of a “fast-food” drive thru Cuban restaurant that is EXTREMELY popular in South Florida, and I personally love it.

This is my favorite sushi and Thai restaurant, but it’s in a plaza with a lot of other restaurants and clubs, so I wouldn’t recommend going there on the weekend because the parking can be really tough.

This place has the best sushi in town! But it is only take out. It is also this amazing little Asian (mostly Japanese) market. (This is my absolute favorite sushi place. It’s also very affordable.)

This is an upscale steak restaurant. The prices are more expensive, but the food is really good. My favorite items on the menu are the Baby-Kale Salad (I’m obsessed with it. It’s considered a side, so I usually get a double, LOL.), the Steak & Fries, and the Seared Tuna Salad. They also have great key-lime pie!
-They do accept reservations, as they get very busy on the weekends.

This is an upscale steak restaurant. The prices are more expensive, but the food is really good. My favorite items on the menu are the Baby-Kale Salad (I’m obsessed with it. It’s considered a side, so I usually get a double, LOL.), the Steak & Fries, and the Seared Tuna Salad. They also have great key-lime pie!
