DIKAKI Favourite Food

Best restaurants and eateries in Langkawi, good on tummy and wallet too, according to DIKAKI family
Be there early in the morning (as early as 8.30am!) to grab one of the most delicious Nasi Dagang Langkawi has to offer and of course the best seat in the house! The view there is amazing; stretches of paddy field as far as the eye could see and the swell of Gunung Raya over the horizon. Delicious food, beautiful view and amazing hospitality by Pak Malau's family and friends. What more can you ask?

Firstly, our family members swears by the nasi goreng (fried rice) and laksa lemak (noodle with fish and coconut milk broth). There are both local and western food to choose from, not too much to make your head spin. Secondly, you can eat while enjoying the view and lapping wind of the beach nearby. Sunset is definitely the best time to enjoy both food and view of the place. While the journey to Din Cafe is a bit tricky, the intimacy of this place is definitely worth your while.

An experience for the mind and the tummy; enjoy behind the scene of buffalo rearing, and delights on food from farm to table. You can bring your children to experience feeding water buffalo and the best part, the delicious farm delicacies, from the mouth-watering steak , yummy fresh milk, creamy buffalo milk ice-cream, homemade mozzarella cheese and many more!

We love coming here for breakfast, as we are spoilt for choice. Our favourite menu; Nasi Lemak, Lontong or Toasted Bread with Kaya spread and scrambled eggs! Top it with creamy teh tarik (pulled milk tea) that is quintessential to any Malaysian breakfast meal. It is a popular spot for lunch time but their selection of mix-rice and fresh ulam (raw veggies eaten with sambal, a spicy-sweet paste) is definitely worth the hustle. Reach as early as 11 am to beat the lunch crowd as we do :) And when it's extra hot in the island, the cendol (iced sweet dessert with tiny rolls of green rice flour jelly, coconut milk and palm sugar syrup) is to die-for!

We're crazy for everything in the menu here! So much attention and rich spin to the local menu, the tongue thanks you for delighting their taste buds. Ma's favourite drink, teh tarik (pulled tea) is the biggest we ever seen in the island! And I personally go bananas for the cheesy banana fritters! Pun intended. Whenever my parents and I are up for an affordable luxary meal in Langkawi, we would definitely dine in Santai, to enjoy one of the most romantic setting in the island. And yes, if you love the breezy wind from the beach nearby, you can choose to dine outside under a rosy-candle light!

One of the best Nasi Arab (Middle East cuisine) in Langkawi with a generous portion of rice and side dishes. Our favorite is the lamb and chicken set as well as a mango lassi to accompany our meal. Best part is, it's only 3-5 minutes walk from DIKAKI. Tips: Langkawi eateries tend to make a too-sweet version of their drink so be sure to say, 'kurang gula'/ 'less sugar, please' to your waiter or waitress.

The most creative and affordable chicken rice meal in Langkawi if not Malaysia! We love having our lunch or early dinner here and watch the locals pass by. Why not try their duck meal, accompanied by a tall of ice coffee/ kopi ais. You won't be sorry! :)
