One of our favorite hiking areas-especially to the Fire Tower, and its views! This is a good outing for adults or (intrepid) kids over 8. The hike is short but fairly steep and really quite lovely. But once you make it to the top of the "mountain", there is a grand fire tower for additional climbing. Once on top, the view is INCREDIBLE and well worth the trip.

This is just re opening and might not yet be fully open to the public. Sprout Creek is a non-profit farm education center 20 minutes away. What's great about it is: it's fantastic for kids. It's free entry and the kids get to explore the barns, the grounds, plus visit, up close, all of the farm animals. The farm also makes and sells its own cheese and dairy products in its store. A lovely family outing.
