Sightseeing

Claims to be the second largest natural harbour in the world, although other harbours also seem to claim this. It is certainly one of the most stunning harbours and has several small islands including world famous Brownsea Island which hosted the first Boy Scout Camp

Poole Quay filled with boats and occasional yachts is sometimes visited by tall ships and other interesting vessels. Just opposite you can see Sunseeker - producer of multi million pound luxury motor boats. Poole museum has free entry and is next to Scaplen's Court an interesting medieval house rebuilt in the 15th century. Poole Pottery is world renowned and is currently trying to find new premises nearby. Poole is home to the RNLI headquarters. Boats leave regularly for Brownsea Island and Wareham from Mid March to the end of October

A lovely Victorian Park complete with model railway. It has 2 lakes, one of which has small pedal boats, and 2 restaurants, one of which is more formal. There is also a soft play area (paying) and 2 playground areas at opposite ends. It is ideal for families, walking, picnics and jogging and is close enough to Poole town centre to pop in for a spot of shopping. There is also a swimming pool just outside of the Park
