A beautiful, little known park along the Watauga River just 10 minutes from our house. Right where you turn off to park is the Valle Crucis Mast General Store and historic buildings. Surrounded by mountains, and live music in the park every Friday night during the summer months makes this place a must visit!

Right where you turn off to park is the Valle Crucis Mast General Store and historic buildings. Surrounded by mountains, and live music in the park every Friday night during the summer months makes this place a must visit!

The Arts Council has a retail shop full of local art, crafts, music, and the like available. Anytime you stop by, ask to talk with Cherry. If there, she'll be happy to give you a tour of the local flavor. You might even find a local jam or music performance happening!

This shop is owned by my brother Jacob and his wife Melina! They are local visual artists and ceramicists. They feature lots of local crafts and also maintain a gallery right in the heart of downtown Boone. We definitely recommend stopping by here!
