We’re partial because this is our shop so maybe it’s not fair, but we are rated the best bakery, coffee shop, and spot for breakfast in the town, so we hope you come visit us and grab a tasty treat to start your day, or a picnic lunch to munch later.

Again partial, but come check out the second cafe we opened on the other side of town. This spot is much less touristy, and the place where locals grab a croissant and a cup of coffee before heading out for their own outdoor adventures. We offer full breakfast, fresh baked pastry, local organic coffee and have sandwiches and salads for grab and go if you are off to explore the area.

Rise early to snag a table at Nora’s Fish Creek Inn, a Wilson depot recently recognized as an “American Classic” by the James Beard Foundation. Trout and eggs, huevos rancheros and short stack of pancakes make for a hearty start to the day. This local's favorite is a fun place to grab a bite.

For a drink with the most incredible view in the valley - overlooking the expanse of Grand Teton National Park, Dornan’s is a perfect spot for celebrating a successful summit bid, or just grab a sunset cocktail. Also, every Monday night in the summer local musicians gather to share their music at this open mic event. The Hootenanny draws young, old, country, pop, and everything in between. It goes back half a century to when Bill Briggs (the first person to ski the Grand Teton) held “Teton Tea Parties” under a bridge in Grand Teton National Park, where artists gathered and sang together. Also free, and also quite crowded.

SRG, located steps off the town square, with its beautiful rustic western atmosphere, serves upscale ‘American Grill’ and has one of the most extensive wine lists in Jackson. SRG could be transplanted to any city in the world and rival its urban peers. Helmed by James Beard nominated chef Jeff Drew, the Grill serves haute fare with creative Western winks.

A speakeasy-style craft cocktail lounged tucked upstairs at the recently reopened Pink Garter Theatre, juxtaposing dramatic details like velvet wallpaper, crystal chandeliers and red tufted booths with creative (and delicious) cocktail concoctions. Great for a late night drink, and make sure to check out whose playing in the theater. This downtown venue has the valley’s most eclectic and indie inspired, interesting line-up. All events are General Admission/standing room only.

Parks & Nature

A scenic cruise on Jenny Lake is an easy adventure in Grand Teton National Park. It’s about a 30 minute ride to the other side where you learn about the history and geology of the area, and the flora and fauna around the lake. It’s a quick and easy hike to beautiful Hidden Falls and then only a little bit further (although a bit steep) to Inspiration Point where you enjoy sweeping views across Jenny Lake and of the towering peaks behind.

Established in 1872, Yellowstone is the first and oldest national park in the world, covering nearly 3,500 sq. miles of northwestern Wyoming as well as parts of Idaho and Montana. Yellowstone’s South Entrance is approximately 90 miles north of the town of Jackson. The park is just over an hour drive from Jackson, but you will need a full day for a worthwhile visit. You can either drive through the park yourself or there are guided trips as well- try Teton Science School for bio adventures, or Wildlife Expeditions for a private experience. Regarding specifics we’ll leave this one to the experts so check out the guides we have in the apartment!

Sightseeing

The Moose-Wilson Road is an incredible windy roadway shaded by lodgepole pines and spotted with wondrous wildlife, all beneath the shadow of the Tetons. Answer the numerous trail heads call to action and head out on a hike - Gorgeous Granite and Death Canyon trail heads are on this road. We recommend this beautiful (but slow) drive as a way into or out of Gran Teton National Park. Make sure to stop at the John D Rockefeller center for some information.

The river runs smoothly though this part of Teton Park. The ride takes you through a pristine, natural landscape that features both a forested and open meadow environment. The park’s special sanctuary is home to an abundance of wildlife, waterfowl and other bird life including the bald eagle, while the most prominent and impressive peaks in the Teton Range are above you. The trip about 2 hours and the best way to see the heart of the park. There are a number of outfitters so find out what one is best for your schedule.

The National Elk Refuge provides, preserves, restores, and manages winter habitat for the significant Jackson Elk Herd as well as habitat for endangered species, birds, fish, and other big game animals. It’s a fabulous easy drive or walk east of town (5 minute drive from the apartment). Make sure to bring binoculars - Bighorns abound on the rocky cliffs and evening sittings of coyotes, wolves and even mountain lions are not uncommon. (In the winter make sure to take the sleigh ride into the interior where you ride within feet of the thousands of elk feeding on native vegetation. A great thing to do if you take a day off skiing.)

Positioned on a stunningly craggy structure that blends into the butte overlooking the National Elk Refuge, just north of town, this museum is a must-see for wildlife art enthusiasts. In 1994, the U.S. Congress bestowed national status on the museum, recognizing it as the definitive site to see wildlife art in the country. The new Sculpture Trail introduces fine art sculpture into the fabric of Jackson Hole’s incomparable landscape, and is a must-see this season with the current Ai Weiwei installation.
