Take a ferry to Bainbridge Island for great views of Seattle from the water. When I go, I usually make a stop at Mora Iced Creamery. It's about a 10 min walk from the ferry terminal. You can also drive your car onto the ferry and drive around Bainbridge, but you don't really need to.

Great place to get out on the water! Rent a small boat for your group at the Electric Boat Company, or rent kayaks or paddle boards for more fun and adventure! Plenty of fun and great views of the city, Gas Works part, house boat neighborhoods, UW, and more. You can even snap a picture of the houseboat from Sleepless in Seattle.

There are lots of restaurants, ice cream shops, cafes, etc. along the beach. I believe you can rent kayaks and paddle boards to go out on the water here, too. There is also a water taxi between downtown Seattle and West Seattle.
