Cable Cafe is a local place near Oval that transforms from a quiet and peaceful cafe with great home-roasted coffee, artisan sour dough sandwiches and cakes during the day into a thriving fun bar with great beer and cocktails in the evenings. On Tuesday evenings there is free jazz and normally jam packed with an eclectic crowd.

London is full of fantastic cinemas, but if you want a flavour of inner city south London - a bus journey to the very very affordable Peckhamplex cinema - £5 a ticket any time any day - is certainly worth the trip. The policy of very cheap tickets has made the cinema enormously popular with locals which makes going to the flix (movies) in Peckham a real event. Peckham is an up and coming area with a wonderful mix people and food outlets and much more, but it is a place few tourists find. But if you feel adventurous - go! It's a great place.
