Food Scene
Woodstock has so many great places to eat out. There are too many to list individually. There are a great couple of Italian Restaurants and Chinese's. All have top notch pub grub too. We are truly spoilt for choice in Woodstock. Even the sandwich shop is cracking. Best to have a walk around town and see what takes your fancy or if you have any questions feel free to ask Heidi your host for any local inside knowledge.

We love coming to the Woodstock Arms either for just a drink, but especially the food. Great menu, wine selection and service. Best to pre book if in a large group.

We highly recommend visiting The Bird in Hand. Its great for families and the food and ale is great too.

This is a great family favourite. Its only 15mins drive from the house. It has a large menu and there is something for everyone and its reasonably priced.

The Bull Inn at Charlbury, is a lovely spot for food and drink. It has a lovely atmosphere and open fires in the winter make it snug. Along with sofas that eat you.. you never want to leave. In the summer you can sit outside and enjoy the pizza hut. Good for everyone.

The Royal Oak at Ramsden, is only 10min drive from Hollyhock House. Its a traditional country Inn with a beautiful interior, complete with open fire, flag stone floors, great ales/wine and food. Gets busy, recommend booking in advance.

Not particularly child friendly, as the childrens menu is still highbrow stuff. But if you want to spoil your other half and friends you won't go far wrong. Ditchley Park is a private estate. But you can walk the paths around the edge of the estate. It's absolutely stunning and has some of the best walking country around. Please do not drive up to the house or anywhere near the properties or farms. You will get asked to leave. Ask for more details from Heidi if you'd like to park up and do one of the walks. Getting Around
Mini bus hire by Oxford minibus Company. (Omc). Beautiful high end blacked out mini busses. Dont think your school hockey mini bus. They will take you to Oxford and back for around £150 return. They know where the house is as a lot of hens /groups use them. They are the only one in the area. Or Charlbury taxis if it’s just a few of you moved about. Husband and wife team. Pete and tracey Sullivan. They get booked up as again they are the only taxi company in the area.

She has beautiful cars that can give you a tour of the area or simply pick you up from the train station, or take you to Bicester Village for a shopping spree. Its the personal touch that counts. Sadly we can no longer host hot tubs. They make too much noise. Everyone has to shout over the bubble machine and the whole valley can hear you.

Not sat on a pony since you were 8yrs old, but still harbour the idea of having a beautiful hack out in the countryside. these guys are your people.... You can hire steady ponies/cobs and go for an escorted Hack. See some of the cotswold from horse back.
Lovely kind ponies that will look after you. Great fun for everyone from complete novices to more advanced riders.

Cotswold wildlife park is a real family favourite. We have taken all the children here over the years. Plenty to see and do. They have a small train that takes you around the park. Theres a playground and restaurant too. Its a must see for anyone with small children.

OMG they are amazing!! The food is organic and super healthy. They host lots of events like bread making, art/painting days, and all sorts of creative workshops. You need to book in advance for one of these. You won't be disappointed. Not cheap but but a treat you won't forget. May even spot local celebs!

I always think of Daylesford as mini Harrods in the Cotswolds. Its a nice way to spend a couple of hours mooching in the food and gift halls. Not forgetting the Spa, yoga and treatments. OMG they are amazing!! The food is organic and super healthy. They host lots of events like bread making, art/painting days, and all sorts of creative workshops. You need to book in advance for one of these. You won't be disappointed. Not cheap but but a treat you won't forget. May even spot local celebs!

It's curated by Jeremy Clarkson and his wife, its his version of Daylesford. It's nothing like Daylesford, complete opposite in fact. Hoards of people go every weekend with a hope of meeting or seeing Jeremy himself. If you like queueing to see not very much and buy local honey at £12 a jar, then this is your place. Best to visit Chadlington Village shop as thats where you will bump into Gerard. He loves watching the football and cricket. You'll find him on the pitches just up from the village shop. If you want to see Caleb, stalk any of the 100 odd tractors that you'll pass in the summer and you may get a toot toot from the cab! DSF is great fun for those with lots of time on their hands.
