This is a great pit-stop, if you are strolling by Dingli Cliffs; one of the most panoramic viewpoints of the southwest coast of the Maltese Islands. The place is great both in Winter and Summer, and offers full meals (tasty) and small snacks.

Presenting an ethnic mix of traditional cuisines from India, North Africa and the Mediterranean, Sharma is situated in the heart of Mdina. The place itself is a historical building of the fortified city, with beautiful features and baroque decor. Live music is generally happening, and if you mange to get there before the setting of the sun, you will have the chance to witness some serious 'hmura'.

Right on the fortified walls of Mdina, Fontanella Tea Garden offers breathtaking unique views from the bastions overlooking the whole island. The venue offers ‘Al Fresco’ seating as well as indoor seating for the chilly winter months. For those with a sweet tooth it is almost a must to try out one of Fontanella‘s famous home-made cakes.

Great food and great views. The place serves a cafe and bistro menu and even afternoon teas. It is part of a museum displaying tapestries and liturgical vestments from St. John Cathedral; the old Mdina Seminary was officially opened and renamed the Mdina Cathedral Museum in 1969. It is a great venue to have a relaxing meal with family and friends.

This is much more than a Cafe - Crystal Palace aka 'is-Serkin', is an iconic pastizzi place which has handed over tradition from generation to generation. They call it the shop that never closes. The sign outside says ‘Crystal Palace Tea and Coffee Bar’. This traditional little bar on the outskirts of Rabat, just around the corner from the Roman Villa and a five-minute walk from our house and two-minute walk from the entrance to Mdina, has been around for over 100 years. Its name is somewhat more recent – dating back around 60 years when it was a popular meeting place for British troops stationed in Malta.
