Food Scene

Not everyone knows it but it's simply the BEST street food stand in Tel Aviv. Very vivid, Mediterrenean with great music in the background, and you can also sit down and have a plate :) My favourite dish is the aubergine and eggs sadwitch in chala bread (a soft, warm Jewish bread served in Shabbat dinners)

It's really easy to find a good falafel stand in Tel Aviv. Two of my favorites are GABAY (25 Bograshov st) which is very famous (also has some great soups), and HIPO the organic falafel, in the Rabin Square (64 Ibn Gabirol street, next to the Burger place).

Suzanna- An outdoor restaurant in the old and beautiful neighborhood of Neve Zedek with some great Israeli food. There’s nothing like drinking a bottle of white wine under the colorful lights in the open air.

Excellent Thai restaurant. I recommend going there after the beach, and order the Tom Yum soup (and the green curry!). It's delicious. If you plan to go there in the evening, it’s recommended to book a table (it’s very, very busy).

Don’t let the name mislead you. This is the best Italian/Israeli restaurant, that’s been a Tel Aviv culinary legend for more than 20 years. Amazing service. Quite Romantic too :)

The best Sushi place in Tel Aviv. And here’s a secret: Their crab burger is amazing, and it won’t appear on the menu. Enjoy.

Drinks & Nightlife

If you’re into the “Mad Men” atmosphere, this is the place. Posh, elegant, obscure, tiny. Book your table in advance.

Just in front of Rabin Square, It’s one of the best bar/restaurants in town but their bar is something else. Very recommended, especially for breakfasts. open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Sightseeing

The BEST beach in town is Trumpeldor beach. It’s got the cleanest, clearest water around , no rocks. They don’t allow any glass bottles at the beach so if you want to drink beer in front of the beautiful sunset, get yourself a can or a plastic glass. And enjoy!

Hacarmel market! Best time to go there is also the busiest time - Friday morning/noon. But the central Tel Aviv marketplace is always cheerful and noisy. Haggle for everything that you want to buy (except food;)). For some great lunches, wonder around the narrow streets outside the market, as I mentioned above.

Within 15 minutes walking distance, this boulevard is the most beautiful in Tel Aviv because it’s surrounded by Bauhaus buildings (the 1930’s Architecture design style originated in Germany). You can walk along the boulevard and continue to Neve Tzedek.

The first Jewish neighborhood to be built outside the walls of Jaffa in the early 1900’s. Its small streets and houses have a very special atmosphere. You can continue your walk to Jaffa, which is just around the corner from there.

It’s best to go to Jaffa in the afternoon, towards sunset, that’s when the old city is the most beautiful. The best way to get there is by walking along the promenade towards south. When you’re there, visit Gan Hapisga (the peak garden), a small garden that overlooks the skyline of Tel Aviv’s beaches; The Zodiac alleys - the tiny streets that remained from old Jaffa, now populated by Jewish artists mainly; and of course The Jaffa port. If you’re into flea markets, there’s one in Jaffa (by night it becomes full of hot bars and restaurants), and it’s always recommended to eat some yummy pastries at Abulafya, the most famous bakery in Jaffa (on 7 Yeffet street).
