This restaurant is very spacious and near the Rivergate, just over the river then you will be there. It opens quite late as well. Local people/families are familiar with this restaurants. They offer special Khmer foods, a minority of Vietnam, whose culture is very close to Laos and Cambodia. Foods are southern tastes there. Just try it, they have very big mixed starter, which you can try and share with groups. More people are better.

There are a lot of brands in Takashimaya, high end to middle class. You can go there to hide away from the heat of Saigon at high noon, buy some sweet chocolates, candies in the basement or try food court in higher levels. Food court here is one of the best in Saigon. You can try the famous Pizza 4P, which is not very crowded in Takashimaya while other branches are usually full. Japanese and Vietnamese foods there are also good. Native families usually have lunch there.

You can enter it through the gate in 102 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1. This is like an outlet center with a lot of exported brands with very low price. I prefer to go there for clothes shopping at weekends. It opens quite late and closes before 7.pm, better to go there after noon.

Sightseeing
This is the most beautiful church/cathedral in Saigon. From there you can walk around to visit the Central Post and the Book Street nearby. However it is under renovation now but it will open again soon for visitors.
