Kamari is a seaside village, situated on the southeastern coast of Santorini, at the north foot of Mesa Vouno mountain, a few kilometers away from the capital. You can access it without difficulty by bus, taxi or rental car. Its name comes from a small arch, which was part of an ancient sanctuary dedicated to Poseidon, standing on the south end of the beach. The main attraction is the Kamari beach, the most popular of the island that has been awarded the Blue Flag. It is clean and well organized with deck chairs, umbrellas and lifeguards. It is miles long, lying under the captivating mountain, owning crystal clear waters and uncommon black sand and pebbles.

Volcano Dive Center is located in Kamari, right next to the “Dolphins Hotel”. The dive shop is located in the middle of Kamari beach, only 20 m away from the sea, where dive boats can be found. Highly recommended for everyone who likes having diving experience!

Ancient Thera is today open to the public and can be reached on a winding road that starts at Kamari or several footpaths from both sides of the mountain.
