It's absolutely huge - you can spend days hiking around this park - getting lost in the deep woods, visiting Kenwood House (http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/kenwood/) & swimming in the public ponds - thinking you were in the English countryside rather than Zone 2 in London. So take your smartphone with Google Maps!
Local pub The Bull & Last provides picnic kits you days out on the hill. Restaurants at Parliament Hill / Gospel Oak are perfect for a heart brunch before a day of walking on the green.

Our local giant park, great for jogging, dogwalking, a dawn view over the city, children's pkaygrounds, a pedalo on the pond. Doesn't hold a candle up to Parliament Hill, but still very beautiful!

A smorgasbord of restaurants along this great strip in the streets of Finsbury Park. No tourists to be found here! Best recommendations are Osteria Tufo (tucked in the side streets, a local favourite & damn great Italian), Dotori (Japanese & Korean - book ahead or you WILL wait outside on the street for a table), Pizzeria Pappagone (cheap & cheerful, the pasta is absolutely fantastic!), La Fabrica (Spanish wines & tapas run by Spaniards who know their stuff). Breakfast at Exeter St Bakery or Boulangerie Bon Matin.

One of the most beautiful classic British gastropubs in London - I can't recommend this place highly enough, for locals & tourists alike, & is where I take my friends when they visit the UK. Perfect for a rainy day, a hungry stomach, & a tasty ale. Enjoy the bar menu in the front for the biggest scotch egg I've seen in my life, oysters, charcuterie boards, & more. The restaurant in the back is a grand old room dripping with hundreds of paintings, overstuffed leather sofas, a specials blackboard taller than your house, & a warm fireplace (sometimes with a lovely old dog dozing in front). Sometimes live bands will play, but mostly it's about pool & sitting down with your mates wth a solid drink in hand. Not raucous, just friendly & great fun. One of my favourite haunts!

The top floor houses a restaurant & cocktail bar gazing down Whitehall directly at Westminster. Book a seat at the bar here for dusk when the Big Ben lights are turned on - stunning!
