A favorite spot to visit. A short hike takes you from the County park to the spit with educational opportunities along the way. Beautiful scenery and peaceful. Warning, the hike back includes a pretty steep hill.

Beautiful scenery and on a clear day you can see Canada across the Straits of Juan de Fuca. Many hikes available, both long and short, easy and more intense. One of my favorite places in the area.

A 45 minute drive will take you to one of the best places to explore tide pools at low tide. There are also hiking trails as well as a beach to enjoy. One of our favorite places to camp or just spend a long day when our children were small.

Sightseeing
Go on the driving tour and see zebras, a rhinoceros, eagles, bears, deer, buffalo, etc. A wonderful way to spend a couple of hours with lots of laughs! We take friends here when they visit. A favorite iconic experience.

The best way to go for a day across the Straits to Victoria, BC. So many things to do while there, including Butchart Gardens, the Empress Hotel and the Provincial Museum, to name just a few, and very tourist-friendly. A favorite place to go in the summer! You can just walk on and get anywhere in the area on foot or by public transportation, or you can drive on and see more of Vancouver Island. In the summer, it is very busy for drive-on traffic, so call ahead to find out what wait times may be.

The store I spend the most money in, with its many choices in produce, basic necessities and a wonderful deli with daily soups, etc. About 5 minutes away on highway 101.

If you are here the 3rd weekend in July you will enjoy the Festival. The street fair is only 4 blocks from here so you won't have to worry about parking. We have many lavender farms to visit, explore and tour, and many things you can take home to family and friends.

Many things happen at Carrie Blake Park, including Shepherd's Festival and weekly outdoor music. Enjoy walking around the park and see the ducks and geese in the ponds, swing on the swings, or watch local teams of all ages play softball or soccer. A very relaxing place to have a picnic!
