Old Minster is a lovely little village with thatched cottages and an old ruin to explore by the river. It takes about an hour to walk from the cottage or 5 minutes to drive. If you want to eat there it is best to book. The walk is in one of the books provided in the cottage. I like it because it's not very touristy!

If you like walking there are plenty of scenic routes in the Cotswolds and we have left maps in the cottage. Bourton on the Water is good for children - the model village captures the imagination. Lots of tea houses and charming little villages to visit.
