Located in the Olvide plaza, it is an all-in-one restaurant, cantina and organic market (tienda ecológica). It has inside nicely decorated seating but we love eating outside in the plaza family-friendly crowd. The organic fresh dishes are beautifully presented and very tasty. The red quinoa salad and salmon dice are great.

We of-ten go here for lunch or an early dinner and enjoy the great salad bar of fresh and diverse ingredi-ents. The fruit smoothies are filling and delicious. We are lucky to have one in the neighborhood located in the Corte Ingles department store. Eating here is a good place to rest after or prepare for shopping in one of Spain’s best department stores. Faborit is located on the ground floor of Corte Ingles at Calle Arapiles, 10. It’s casual and inexpensive for the quantity and quality of food.

Museo de Romanticismo (Museum of Romanticism) is located on Calle de San Mateo, 13 within walking distance of the apartment. This intriguing museum is devoted to the Romantic period of the 19th century. It houses a treasure trove of mostly 19th-century paintings, furniture, porcelain, books, photos, and other articles from a bygone age, offering an insight into what upper-class houses were like in the 19th century. The museum occupies a late-18th-century mansion which was converted into a museum in 1924.

This 350 acre park offers a museum, Palacio de Velasquez, of installation art and the Palacio Cristal which looks like a huge glass pane bird cage. It also has exhibits sometimes. There is a lovely rose garden and the Paseo de Argentina, Paseo de Estatuas, or Statue Walk. You can rent a rowboat to paddle around a small lake and eat at one of many cafes. It's a good place to run following the perimeter of the park and you'll also see lots of other runners, walkers, skaters, and outdoor enthusiasts.
