This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Beacon. It is still a favorite, but now it's a "supper club". They serve the same menu to everyone and the menu changes once every month or two. You can get an optional cocktail pairing. It's not cheap and you have to book in advance. But definitely one of the more unique dining experiences in Beacon!

Slightly more upscale dining in an old bank building (you can still see the massive namesake vault behind the bar). Great for a fancier dinner or weekend brunch/lunch.

Known for it's burgers (which are great) but I'm addicted to their crispy chicken sandwich. Fairly limited menu but everything is good and they always have a few specials going. Great cocktails and super friendly service. They have a lovely patio out back.

This is one of Beacon's top destinations. I remember the winter it opened (2018?) when I saw a huge line of people snaking around the block - something you almost never see in Beacon, much less in the middle of winter. They specialize in "sour" beers and believe me, it has a huge following. They have some cool outdoor spaces and I believe more are due to open shortly. They have a food truck outside that changes from time to time. Lately it has been a pizza truck which is excellent. By far the best pizza in Beacon. They have a super cool outdoor space that is great to hang out in. You can easily spend the entire afternoon here. And you can walk home on the tracks!

Primarily Nepalese/Himalayan food with some Thai options. Extensive vegetarian/vegan menu. One of my favorite spots for dinner in Beacon. You can do takeout if you order online. I have tried to call in an order but they never pick up their phone. Super friendly older gentleman owner. Maybe handing the phone is too much for him, but you'll love him in person.

Sightseeing

The Roundhouse is a cool bar, restaurant, event space and boutique hotel built in an old factory building overlooking Beacon's famous waterfall. The food is pricey and hit-or-miss on quality (in my opinion). The highlight is the amazing setting - particularly the patio in nice weather.

Dia:Beacon is what put Beacon on the map as an art and tourist destination. The museum opened in 2003 in the former home of a Nabisco box printing factory. The museum specializes in very large format art - some pieces are the size of a small house. You will definitely want to check it out if you're spending any amount of time in Beacon

Massive outdoor sculpture garden on the side of Storm King mountain. Spend hours there seeing gigantic sculptures in a super cool, meticulously landscaped, natural setting. Located across the river about 30 minutes drive from Beacon. Plan on spending a full day. If you have time it's a must see.

West Point is home to some of the most important events in US history during the Revolutionary War. If you are at all interested in this period, visiting is a must. For a special treat, go during a home football game and see the cadet review parade .

Parks & Nature

Hiking is consistently one of the top attractions in Beacon. Hudson Highlands State Park connects Beacon with nearby Fishkill, Cold Spring, Garrison, and Peekskill. There are many marked and unmarked hiking trails, all interconnected - it would take years to hike them all. This is the most popular trail head in Beacon, from which you can access the entire Hudson Highlands park.

Beacon's riverfront park. Stroll along the water on one of the nature trails, bring a picnic, or just enjoy the view of the river, mountains and bridge. Several connected trails link this park to the MTA train station, Denning's Point nature preserve, and Fishkill Creek
