11 Hilton Terrace, Tewantin An institution around the Noosa area, the Noosaville Fish Market closed it’s doors earlier this year after 60 years of faithful service. But don’t fear, they have merely relocated! You can find them at the Hilton Terrace Shops in a bigger and better shopfront still serving the traditional fish and chips that generations of locals have grown up on. Definitely one for visitors to tick off the list!

For a Sunset cruise up the Noosa river. It's only $10 and goes upstream from the Marina to Lake Cooroibah, past Richard Branson's Makepeace Island and Koala Conservancy, so even if you've been on the Ferry, you'll see something very different. Check online for boarding and departure times and get there early ( boarding time) as they depart early when full.

The jewel in Noosa's crown. One of the only north-facing beaches on the east coast. If it's too busy between the flags, walk past the first rock wall to have the beach almost to yourself. Only swim between the red and yellow flags.

25 minute drive south to Coolum Beach, then a 45 minute climb to the top of the mountain for great 360 degree views of the Sunshine Coast. Need to be fit. Not suitable for children under 5 years old, unless you want to carry them the whole way! Popular with walkers and runners keeping fit. The views are worth the physical effort. Treat yourself to an ice-cream at Coolum Beach afterwards!

Great, quiet beach at the end of Main Beach/Hastings Street. Fabulous sunset views. Awesome spot for kite-surfing on north-easterly sea breezes - and fantastic spot for spectators. Also check out the ice-cream and hot-dog van (there at random hours, rarely before 10am and rarely after 330pm). Walk a few hundred metres upstream for another (dog-friendly) beach - no waves, so great for young children, but can be a strong current, so check conditions before letting them enter the water.
