Easton Restaurants

Being so close to NYC and Philadelphia, Easton is home to an incredible food scene. We've not had a bad experience at any of the places listed. And many of the restaurants not only have phenomenal menus, they also have great servers, fun bars, and indoor/outdoor seating with historic character and beautiful aesthetics.

Coffee & Sweets

Out of all the incredible coffeehouses we've frequented over the last 25 years, our favorite one is here in our town. A renovated mansion, ThreeBirds has aesthetic charm off the charts. Coffee for the casual drinker and the "snob" (including tea snobs too ;) ) Come meet the birds (there are actually two) and sit in one of the magical nooks to get work done or just dream. Outdoor seating as well. AND...don't laugh at the Hunk of Bread option on the chalkboard...I order it almost every time.

This is for the history buffs...did you know how influential and crucial the Delaware and Lehigh Canals were to the building of our nation? We didn't until we took the canal boat tour and walked through the museum. We've done historical tours all over the country, but this 2 mph tour powered by mules has become our favorite in regards to details, facts, and crazy stories of ingenuity. The museum has a host of interactive activities for kids as well.

In addition to the MusikFest listed above, Easton has a nationally ranked Bacon Fest in the fall, a Garlic Fest in the fall you have to see to believe (Eat! Drink! Stink!), and a rock music and seafood festival in the late summer called Clam Jam. Throughout the year, they light a Peace Candle in the square during the holidays, read the Declaration of Independence in the summer during Colonial Days (Easton was the 2nd place the original Declaration was read after Philadelphia!), and host a variety of pop-up events and special concerts. Check with us if you want to know more! MusikFest takes place in late summer and features a massive band list of famous national bands, reunion tours, and rising local talent. The majority of festival is free and features multiple stages, great food, and local breweries. In the evenings, superstar groups perform ticketed concerts.

The Pets of Stoneshire

On our 15 acre property, we have the following animals: Naga (female) and Beorn (male) the Great Pyrenees guard dogs, Fuego the Peekapoo, Clementine (Clemmy) the orange hunter cat, Star the Pony, and our free range herd of Nigerian Dwarf Goats (you'll have to ask Shannon or Addi for all their names).

The Birds of Stoneshire

If you hike the property, you could see the following: Ducks (Peking, Mallards, Mergansers, and occasionally blue-wing Teals), Canada Geese, Great Blue Herons, Red-Tail Hawks, Bald Eagles, Kingfishers, a variety of woodpeckers (including a pair of Pileated) and all kinds of songbirds (listen for the ethereal call of the Wood Thrush in the mornings and evenings). We've also occasionally spotted Green Herons and Osprey.

Other Animals of Stoneshire

We frequently have deer all over the property, and besides the constant bustle of squirrels and chipmunks, we've spotted minks, foxes, raccoons, muskrats, groundhogs, possums, water snakes (no poisonous snakes ever seen!), bullfrogs, eels (YEP) and in the creek we have a healthy population of wild brown and rainbow trout.

Fishing the Creek

Shannon's husband Matt frequently fishes the Martins Creek and can tell you about the property and make recommendations for fishing the creek. Please just ask. **Our property is strictly catch-and-release fishing** A current PA fishing and trout license is required to fish.

Want to relax along the creek?

There is nothing more relaxing than laying in a hammock and listening to the water rush by and the birds chirping in the trees above. Hammocks are available for guests to use on our property. We have a set spot that we leave the straps set up so all you need to do is clip in the hammocks and relax the day away. Just ask for the hammocks and where to find the “hammock spot” among the beach trees along the creek.
