Central Park, venue of the Budapest Eye and favourite meeting place for young tourists and locals full of pubs and restaurant and a good starting place for a downtown city walk to the Basilica, the Parliament, the Danube Embankment, Chain Bridge (which is unfortunately under reconstruction, so you cannot cross - go by Metro2 or boat - in summer - to the other side)

You can actually go in the Parliament in high season via the Visitors Centre, or just take a walk around and go to see the famous 'Shoes' memorial on the embankment in front of the gian building.

Our greatest church dedicated to our first king, St. Stephen, founder of our Christian state around 1000 A.D. and relative of queen Kunigunda of the Holy Roman Empire, now Germany. You can walk up to one of the side towers for a view of the city!

Near Városliget the huge city park which is a not-to-miss sight in itself - a memorial dedicated to the ancient Hungarian tribal leaders who occupied the Carpathian basin a 1000 years ago.

The loveliest view to the city, the most famous collection of Hungarian paintings of all times, museum of history, old chapel, musum café and shop and a historic quarter of 200-300-year-old houses. Do not miss Tóth Arpád alley facing the Buda hills!

My favourite city walk is starting from Kálvin sq via Liberty (Szabadság) bridge (my favourite bridge!) by Gellért sq (where the famous Gellért Bath is) straight up to the monument. The view is stunning from here onto the Danube beneath.
