In the 1930s, Sheridan Avenue was the destination for theater owners looking to screen and lease films for their movie houses. Dubbed “Film Row,” it was home to notable film companies like Paramount Pictures, MGM, Universal, Fox and Warner Brothers. Today, the district breathes life again, thanks to the efforts of forward-thinking civic pioneers.
Recent streetscaping celebrating the district’s movie heritage has transformed the area, which is now home to several film-oriented and design-focused businesses.
